There have been many rumored Bitcoin hard forks in the last year, some of which have come to fruition, and many of which never materialized. Out of those that have gone live, few have seen much success. Now, a new Bitcoin hard fork is said to be debuting soon, this time called BitcoinZap.
Right now, there is not a lot of information available regarding BitcoinZap. The coin has just been announced, and only a brief statement regarding the hard fork has been made. Those in the industry are used to this. In fact, this lack of information is often part of the marketing, forcing people to speculate about the hard fork and build up the hype.
So, what do we know? BitcoinZap will seek to deliver aggressive transparency and a developed roadmap. The team behind the project promises they will create a “coin that will not only innovate but also conflate into a bright future.”
And, of course, it hopes its association with Bitcoin will help it succeed.
However, that strategy has not worked out so well for the majority of Bitcoin hard forks. While Bitcoin Cash has been successful enough to crack the top cryptocurrencies list and even get a hard fork of its own, others have not done so well. Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Private are just two hard forks that have failed to live up to their hype.
And BitcoinZap isn’t even the only looming Bitcoin hard fork. Anonymous Bitcoin will be making its debut soon.
According to the initial press release, BitcoinZap’s team will be revealing more about the project on May 21. The mainnet for the coin is set to launch August 18.
